Requirements for Automobile Driver Testing
18 yrs. and older:
- Valid Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP).
- Current Proof of Insurance for the vehicle.
- Current Registration for the vehicle.
- Vehicle must be in good working order: BRAKE LIGHTS (INCLUDING center-back brake light), HORN, windshield wipers, turn signals, tires, no cracks in windshield, etc.
UNDER 18 yrs. old:
- Level 1 Learner’s License (permit) from MI Secretary of State. Must be 6 months from issue date.
- Segment 2 certificate (need EXM #)
- Driving log (Acceptable forms: Handwritten or RoadReady App. Must be at least 50 hours, including 10 hours of night driving).
- Current Proof of Insurance for the vehicle.
- Current Registration for the vehicle.
- Vehicle must be in good working order: BRAKE LIGHTS (INCLUDING center-back brake light), HORN, windshield wipers, turn signals, tires, no cracks in windshield, etc.
- Parent or legal guardian.

Have your Permit and Segment 2 certificate (if applicable) ready when scheduling your test.
You will need to give us the following information:
- Name
- Phone #
- Driver License #
- Date of Birth
- Issue Date of Permit
- Expiration Date of Permit
- The name of the person who taught you how to drive (all clients)
- Segment 2 Certificate # (under 18)
